Virginia Blue Bells

Mertensia virginica
One of the most beautiful native plants in our gardens in May. We love mixing them in with Hosta so they are up and then the Hosta appear and once they show the VBB goes dormant. Amazing arching stems of clusters of nodding pink buds that open lavender-blue bell-shaped flowers. We have often had these amazing early spring blooming natives available but not for pre-order. Please note they are ephemeral, meaning they go dormant later in the season. When happy they also reseed. Therefore watch for smaller non-blooming sizes in your garden in the following springs. Zone 4
Great early pollinator.
