`Midnight Purple’ is a shorter variety of Salvia, comprised of coarsely textured green foliage, topped with a profusion of violet-purple candles on dark red stems that begin in the spring and last throughout summer. The inflorescences of `Midnight Purple’ are distinctly separated from the foliage, giving the plant the unique illusion of a small bouquet sprouting out from a flower bed. Compact and versatile, this Salvia works well in containers, at the front of borders, or in mixed gardens. Zone 4
