Ice and Roses

We have this one in White, Pink and Red.  This impressive new hybrid has perked up the traditional drooping flowers of hellebores with blooms facing outwards, and even upwards, to greet the spring. A delightful cool-season bloomer, a wonderful addition to lightly to deeply shaded beds. Evergreen. They grow best in a part shade location with organically rich, moist, well-drained soil; a site where it will remain undisturbed for years. Water regularly when dry in the first growing season to establish the root system; once established, it tolerates dry spells in cool, shady settings. Protect roots with a thick layer of mulch. Remove old, faded foliage in spring.  Zone 5
