Britt-Marie Crawford

‘Britt-Marie Crawford’ is a dark-leaved form of one of our favorite foliage plants for partial shade. The large, 6″ leaves are chocolate maroon above and purple beneath. In early summer, pink-flowered Heucheras are a good color match, or you might like to place annuals with chartreuse foliage nearby. In August-September Britt-Marie puts up a multitude of Daisy-like, bright yellow-orange flowers above its showy foliage.   The genus Ligularia is huge, and the best of the species are large, handsome plants that thrive in full sun when moisture is reliable or even constant and in partial shade where it is not. They are excellent companions for large Hostas.

Golden orange daisy-like flowers in late summer to fall.
